A big thank you to Mad Science & Brandon Parrish for entertaining and engaging with the children at our toy drive on Saturday! The slime activity was a big hit, and your scientists were GREAT with the kids!!! It’s so nice to see companies like yours giving back to the community!

Our cup runneth over!!! To see the complete joy on the children’s faces today at the Family Rescue Center toy drive event...well, it doesn’t get much better than that! Thank you to all of the terrific people in our community who donated so that 850 homeless and low-income children could each receive a gift for Christmas. Thank you to every wonderful volunteer who showed up today to wrap gifts, help with shopping, serve warm drinks/treats to the children and families who had slept outside in line overnight, and those who came with fun activities to do with the children. You made the children and families feel so valued today! Note: there are still more children coming to FRC for their Christmas gifts this week, so we need a few volunteers each day from 9:00am-1:00pm to help give them their gifts. If you would like to help out, just call the FRC office at: 818-884-7587.

Woohoo!!!! You pulled it off! Tomorrow morning we WILL indeed have enough toys and gift cards to give 850 homeless and low-income kids & teens each a fantastic gift (and a stocking stuffer) for Christmas! Plus, all of the teens will receive some new clothing items. The children and moms were already in line this morning and many will sleep outside in line tonight, so...we are thrilled that no one will be turned away tomorrow; all will receive gifts! Thank you to all who donated, help spread the word and/or volunteered! We cannot wait to see the children’s joy-filled faces tomorrow as we spend a fun-filled morning together!! Come join us if you would like to volunteer at tomorrow’s toy event! Just show up at Family Rescue Center (22103 Vanowen Street, Canoga Park) at approximately 8:15am.

Wow! Thank you so much, Kirk O’ The Valley School!!!! What an amazing, giving community you are!!!

It truly does take a community👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🎄 to pull together an event like our CHRISTMAS TOY DISTRIBUTION. Thank you BIG SUNDAY, WEST HILLS, and THERMO FISHER for your toy (and other) donations this week! 👏🤝

David from Big Sunday, filled my car with toys donated by Hasbro and Mattel!

We are thankful for all of you! We still need more toys and especially gift cards (for the teens), so come on by tomorrow, 11:00am-5:00pm, to volunteer or bring donations as we continue setting up the “toy store”. 😊🎄

Thank you to Gail VanDyke and Ted Dall, for hosting their 2nd annual toy drive dinner event at their home last night. They, along with their guests from The Church at Rocky Peak, have once again collected many fantastic toys for the homeless and low-income children who will be coming to our Christmas Toy Drive event this Saturday. Thank you so much, Ted and Gail, for your enormous generosity! You do so much for Family Rescue Center! Some of the toys are pictured here, along with the wonderful group of people who donated.

Thank you Turning Point Church for all of the wonderful donations for this coming Saturday’s toy drive event! Your church members donated 345 new toys, 29 awesome gift cards, 301 stocking stuffers, plus monetary donations of $910 to buy more toys. We are enormously grateful for your thoughtful generosity!!! We have approx 850 homeless & low-income children registered for this Saturday’s toy drive...so this kind of community support makes all the difference!!!

Only 9 more days!!! We are in GREAT need of gifts for approx. 850 homeless and low-income kids and teens. On Dec 16th, we plan to bring hope and joy to these kids at our annual Christmas event, and we hope to be able to give one toy or gift card (and one stocking stuffer) to each of these 850 local kids in need. COMMUNITY SUPPORT is what keeps us going! THANK YOU!

Once again, our cup runneth over!!! Today’s Thanksgiving Food Drive Event was amazing! Thank you to all who volunteered and/or donated! It truly takes a village to pull this off! We not only had enough to give over 350 homeless and low-income families (that’s over 1,000 people) turkeys and food for a complete Thanksgiving meal, but...this is the first year that we had enough food and monetary donations to give “extra” flour, canned foods, sugar, cooking oil, salt, pasta, stuffing and more to most every family...and believe us, our larger families of 7-12 people were extremely grateful to have such a generous amount of food items. We are still in disbelief at all that we were able to give these happy, grateful families today! The community of schools, churches, sports teams, gyms, Girl Scout troops, and other organizations that came together for this one cause...well, we can’t even put into words how much this community makes us smile! 💜

Thank you to Bonnie Abel of Nothing Bundt Cakes, for donating wonderful cakes for our hard-working volunteers! Deeeeelicious!!!

We are so grateful to all of the volunteers who showed up today to help us organize and shop for food donations to give to the FRC families for Thanksgiving! Thank you SO MUCH to all who have donated food or money thus far; it is because of you that over 350 families (that’s over 1,000 people) in need will get to have a wonderful Thanksgiving meal!

Thank you Granada Hills Presbyterian Church, for the 350 prepared bags of produce for the FRC children and families who will be enjoying this healthy food for Thanksgiving!

Thank you to El Camino High School for the enormous amount of food donations for our Thanksgiving Food Drive! And thank you to Kirk O’ The Valley school for the generous food donations and monetary donations; we bought flour, sugar, salt, cooking oil, rice and more with the donations from you!

Thank you to all of the phenomenal volunteers who showed up today to help us sort Thanksgiving food donations, fill grocery bags, shop, etc. We know how difficult it can be to find time on a weekday, so we are super grateful for your help! For anyone who would like to volunteer tomorrow, just show up at Family Rescue Center anytime between 11:00am-5:00pm.
